What is CAFS Mission ?

To promote advancement and guidance on all aspects of forensic sciences.

The Caribbean Association of Forensic Sciences, was initiated in 2012 by Dr. Alfredo Walker and Inspector Gregory Williams and the Founding Executive was established November 18, 2015 at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona Campus Jamaica. The CAFS is the only forensic science association in the Caribbean.

Our goals will be to ensure that the respective standards of practice in all the forensic disciplines in the region are internationally acceptable, thereby promoting public confidence in the Criminal Justice systems of the various Caribbean territories. We aim to promote professionalism, integrity, competence and the application of evidence-based, best practices; to invoke rigorous quality control; to encourage collaboration amongst the Forensic Science disciplines, the Criminal Justice System and to foster and support opportunities for original research, professional networking and continuing professional development.
